Given the unique design, feel, and vibe of the venue, we decided to go a different route. Rather than building a conventional booth, we sourced vintage speakers that matched the venue's tones and used them as the foundation — building in a special slot for the sub within the two bottom middle speakers.
On top, we fitted a Pioneer DJM-900NXS paired with Technics turntables, and added a stand for the CDJs. We opted for a walnut-stained finish on birch plywood and included a curved plywood detail to cover the mixer. The front panel and back of the CDJ stands are finished with vintage speaker mesh to resemble the ones on the structure.
The booth was built to complement the character of the space — not compete with it. The result is something that feels like it's always been there.
